Shout-Out: Resilient Recovery | Marion, NC

Welcome to #ShoutOutWNC Saturdays with Appalachia Relief!

This is a weekly post where we celebrate the work of the grassroots orgs continuing to provide critical on-the-ground relief and recovery aid in WNC. 

Today’s shout-out goes to Resilient Recovery NC — located in Marion and working in 8 counties.

In their own words: “Our mountain community is tough and we are here with you to prove it! Resilient Recovery NC is a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting the mountain community we cherish in Western North Carolina. We are members of this community and will be here with you to rebuild our beloved home with hands-on disaster recovery and relief efforts.”

Resilient Recovery’s ongoing volunteer-run projects include:

  • A 500,000 sq ft. supply warehouse collecting and distributing food and supplies 
  • Private road and bridge repair
  • Debris cleanup in Flat Creek, Buck Creek, Powerhouse Road, and Lake James
  • New Quonset Home Construction
  • Bioremediation Projects

Want to help? Resilient Recovery is currently seeking volunteers able to help with the following:

  • Onsite: Warehouse / distribution operations, debris clean-up, new home construction, & more
  • Remote: Fundraising, social media, grant-writing
